Get ready to build, tinker, and create with ART Botz in this hands-on, family-friendly workshop at Fab Lab El Paso! Participants will explore the intersection of art and technology by designing and assembling their own scribble art robots—motorized machines that bring creativity to life with motion and color.

Using basic electronic components, families will construct bots that wiggle, spin, and shake, transforming everyday materials into moving mini robot artists. As they build, participants will learn the basics of simple circuits, working with motors, batteries, and switches. Once assembled, these ART Botz can be reprogrammed to create unique drawing patterns, offering endless artistic possibilities.

Families will unleash their creativity by customizing and modifying their bots, then take home their very own ART Botz to continue experimenting beyond the workshop. No prior experience is needed—just a love for hands-on making and creative exploration. Fab Lab El Paso is an award-winning 501(c)(3) tech and education nonprofit, makerspace, and STEAM Lab. As the first Fab Lab in western Texas, our grassroots organization is dedicated to democratizing access to digital fabrication tools, empowering our community with digital knowledge, and promoting equity and innovation within the tech economy.
