A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Stephanie Otero has made El Paso her home for more than twenty-five years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland and her Master’s Degree from New Mexico State University. Stephanie has spent her entire career in the non-profit and educational worlds. She has worked for Spoleto Festival U.S.A., Opera Colorado, the El Paso Independent School District and the Ysleta Independent School District. She is currently the Vice President of Operations for the El Paso Community Foundation and the Interim CEO for La Nube (El Paso’s children’s museum and science center). Her commitment to community service has always been strong.
Currently she is President of the El Paso Special Need Education Center Board of Directors; a member of the Board of Directors for the Down Syndrome Coalition of El Paso and Philosophic Systems Institute; a member of the University of Texas at El Paso Department of Education Advisory Board; Co-chairman of the El Paso Educator Pipeline Community of Practice; and a Steering Committee Member for Early Matters El Paso.
