
Karla Salazar is the Chief Advancement Officer at La Nube STEAM Discovery Center, El Paso’s premier STEAM discovery center and a recipient of the Hands On! International Children’s Museum Award. She brings deep institutional knowledge to her role, having been with La Nube since 2017 and previously serving as Senior Vice President. From the earliest days of La Nube’s vision, Karla has worked at the intersection of philanthropy, design, and community partnership, helping transform an idea into a landmark institution.
She played a key role in securing capital giving and philanthropic support, working alongside visionary leaders, architects, exhibit designers, educators, and civic partners to bring La Nube to life as an accessible and inspiring destination for children and families.
In her role as Chief Advancement Officer, Karla leads La Nube’s efforts in transformational giving, building strong and lasting relationships with donors and advocates who share a commitment to equity, innovation, and high quality STEAM learning for children. Guided by a deep dedication to inclusion and community impact, she brings people together around a shared vision of a discovery center that inspires curiosity, strengthens community, and affirms that every child deserves the opportunity to imagine, create, and thrive.
