Arts Integration Coordinator
Reporting to: VP of Learning and Experiences
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000
Schedule: 40 hours per week to include weeknights and weekend availability

Responsibilities

About the Role

La Nube is seeking a dynamic Arts Integration Coordinator to lead educational experiences that champion the “A” in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math)! This coordinator will play a pivotal role in designing hands-on arts experiences that engage multi-generational families, field trip scholars, workshop participants, and event attendees in our multi-cultural community.

Bringing an arts background and expertise, this coordinator will collaborate with the Learning and Experiences Team to lead organization-wide STEAM Art Integration, facilitating experiences and training Discovery Guides to implement high quality visual, performing, media, and literary arts programming.

This coordinator will also draw upon the expertise of our local artists and community to create a robust STEAM Art Program that inspires guests to discover, create and innovate! We are looking for a playful, creative, team player, driven by La Nube’s Mission and Vision!

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree and 2 years of demonstrated related work experience.
  • Experience in design and implementation of arts programs, activities, workshops or camps.
  • Experience and technical skills in a variety of visual art mediums, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD), printmaking, acrylics, photography, and clay work. A portfolio may be requested to showcase proficiency in these skills.
  • Proven experience in program management, preferably in an educational or museum setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with staff. students, teachers, and group leaders effectively.
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusion practices within educational environments.
  • Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and evenings as necessary to accommodate La Nube programs.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish a plus.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, high-quality, annual STEAM Arts Integration Program Plan that aligns with La Nube’s vision and educational goals.
  • Collaborate with members of the Learning and Experiences Team to design and deliver interactive and engaging STEAM Art programs and activities on-site, off-site, and virtually.
  • Plan and facilitate multi-age STEAM workshops and camps.
  • Train Discovery Guides to facilitate exhibit-inspired, arts-centered hands-on activities for guests.
  • Provide professional development on various art mediums and arts integration techniques to La Nube staff and regional educators.
  • Partner with artists and organizations from our region and beyond to create robust programming opportunities for our La Nube community.
  • Collaborate with the Early Childhood Coordinator to design STEAM Art experiences that support developmental milestones and language acquisition.
  • Manage program budgets, including forecasting and tracking expenses.
  • Collaborate with Region 19 schools to showcase art pieces on our Blue-Sky Lab Art Wall.
  • Foster positive relationships with teachers, students, and educational leaders, providing excellent guest service to ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Stay informed about accessibility and inclusion practices, adapting programs to accommodate diverse needs, and ensuring equitable access to La Nube’s experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Experience Team on creation and facilitation of La Nube special events and holiday programming for families.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
  • Commitment to support La Nube’s dedication to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives.
  • Work a minimum 40-hour work week.
  • Provide backup assistance to other team members to ensure continuity of services.
  • Actively practice OSHA and La Nube’s health and safety protocols.
  • Schedule and availability reflect the organization is a 7-day-a week operation.
  • Attends all necessary meetings both departmentally and organizationally, as applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands/Occupational Hazards:

This position is highly active. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Observe and react to the needs of guests, team members, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Move throughout La Nube.
  • Manipulate, lift and/or move materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Frequent bending/stooping, kneeling, reaching.
  • Frequent need to carry, lift or move objects.
  • Communicate and respond to safety hazards.
  • Occasional work in outdoor elements (may consist of harsh heat or cold).
  • Occasional walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals used in artist materials.
  • Occasional exposure to leaning edges and glass barriers.
